Privacy policy
Last updated October 4, 2026. Applies to the NearMint Chrome extension, iPhone app and this website.
What we collect
- Account. When you sign in with Google or Apple we receive your email address, name and profile picture. You also choose a public @handle.
- Your collection. The cards you add (quantity, condition, grade, purchase price and date, notes), your wishlist and who you follow.
- Scans. Which card the scanner recognised and how (a card id and match score), so we can keep prices fresh for cards people actually look at.
- Training captures (only if you opt in). If you turn on Help improve card recognition, then when the extension recognises a card it uploads a cropped image of the scan box you drew, with the card it matched, so we can improve recognition. It's off unless you choose it, and you can turn it off in Profile → Settings. Nothing outside the scan box is sent.
What we don't collect
The extension only looks at a tab when you open its panel and start scanning. Video is processed on your device; we don't record streams, audio, your browsing history or other tabs. We don't sell your data and don't use it for advertising.
How it's used
- Signing you in and syncing your collection between the extension and the app.
- Showing prices and your portfolio's value over time.
- Showing your profile to other users, as far as your privacy settings allow (private by default; purchase prices are never shown).
- Product emails about NearMint, only if you opt in (when you first sign in, or in Profile → Settings). We record when you opted in. You can unsubscribe from any email or turn it off in Settings.
Where it's stored
Accounts and collections are stored with Supabase; scan logs and price caches with Turso; training captures with Vercel Blob. The site and API run on Vercel. Card prices come from TCGPlayer, eBay and Pokemon Price Tracker; we send them only card identifiers, never your account details.
Deleting your data
Email theomanavazian@gmail.com from the address you sign in with and we'll delete your account, collection, wishlist, follows and captures within 30 days. You can also ask us for a copy of your data.
Who can see your email
Only you and us. Other users see your @handle, name, picture and whatever your privacy settings share — never your email address.
